ഏലൂര് സ്വദേശികളായ ഷീല (50), ഭര്ത്താവ് ബെന്നി ജോര്ജ് (52) എന്നിവരാണ്
മരിച്ചത്. ശനിയാഴ്ച പുലര്ച്ചെ 2.30നായിരുന്നു അപകടം. ദേശീയ പാതയോട്
ചേര്ന്ന കുളത്തിലേക്കാണ് ഇവര് സഞ്ചരിച്ചിരുന്ന കാര് വീണത്.
വാഹനമോടിച്ചിരുന്ന ഇവരുടെ സുഹൃത്ത് ശശി കര്ത്ത അത്ഭുതകരമായി രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു.

ദേശീയപാതയിലെ നിര്മാണത്തിലെ അപാകതയാണ് വാണിയമ്പാറയിലെ അപകടത്തിന് പ്രധാന കാരണമെന്നാണ് ആരോപണം. റോഡരികില് 10 അടി താഴ്ചയിലാണ് കുളം. ഇവിടെ കുളമുണ്ടെന്ന സൂചനാ ബോര്ഡും സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ദേശീയ പാതയ്ക്കരികില് ഇങ്ങനെയൊരു കുളമുള്ളതായി മനസിലാകില്ല. അതറിയാതെ വാഹനങ്ങള് റോഡരികിലേക്ക് നീക്കുന്നതാണ് അപകടത്തിന് കാരണമെന്ന് നാട്ടുകാര് പറയുന്നു.ഇവിടെ രാത്രികാലങ്ങളില് ഇതിനുമുമ്പും അപകടമുണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്.

Thrissur: A couple died early morning Saturday, after the car in which they were travelling fell into a wayside pond, by the national highway in Thrissur's Vaniyampara.
The deceased were identified as Ernakulam native Benny George(54) and his wife Sheela George (51). The car’s driver, Thripunithura naïve Sasi Karta, had a miraculous escape.
The accident took place at 2 am early morning. The couple were returning from a Rotary Club meeting in Coimbatore, when the car veered off the national highway at Vaniyampara, Irinjalakuda and sank into the nearby pond.
