മലയിൻകീഴ് (23/01/20) : ഭർത്താവിനൊപ്പം ബൈക്കിൽ യാത്ര ചെയ്യുന്നതിനിടെ കെഎസ്ആർടിസി ബസ് തട്ടി റോഡിൽ വീണ വീട്ടമ്മ അതേ ബസ് കയറി ഇറങ്ങി തൽക്ഷണം മരിച്ചു. മലയിൻകീഴ് മച്ചേൽ കോവിൽവിള റാം നിവാസിൽ റിട്ട. പൊലീസ് എസ്ഐ പ്രഭാകരൻ നായരുടെ (പ്രസന്നൻ) ഭാര്യ രജനി രാജഗോപാൽ (50) ആണ് മരിച്ചത്. വാരിയെല്ലിനു പരുക്കേറ്റ പ്രഭാകരൻ നായർ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ചികിത്സയിലാണ്.
പേയാട്– കാട്ടാക്കട റോഡിൽ മലയിൻകീഴ് ജംക്ഷനു സമീപം കെഎസ്ഇബി ഓഫിസിനു മുന്നിൽ ഇന്നലെ 11.30ന് ആണ് അപകടം. നെയ്യാർ ഡാമിൽ നിന്നു തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തേക്കു വരികയായിരുന്ന കാട്ടാക്കട ഡിപ്പോയിലെ ഫാസ്റ്റ് പാസഞ്ചർ ബസ് അതേ ദിശയിൽ തൊട്ടു മുന്നിൽ പോയ ബൈക്കിൽ ഇടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ബൈക്കും ഓടിച്ചിരുന്ന പ്രഭാകരൻ നായരും റോഡിന്റെ ഇടതു വശത്തു വീണു.
പക്ഷേ, വലതു ഭാഗത്തു വീണ രജനിയുടെ ശരീരത്തിലൂടെ ബസിന്റെ പിൻ ചക്രം കയറി ഇറങ്ങി. ചക്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ കുടുങ്ങിയ രജനിയുമായി ബസ് അൽപം ദൂരം വീണ്ടും മുന്നോട്ടു നീങ്ങി. സംഭവം നടന്ന ഉടൻ ഡ്രൈവറും കണ്ടക്ടറും ഓടി രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു. ബസ് അമിത വേഗത്തിലായിരുന്നു എന്ന് ദൃക്സാക്ഷികൾ സൂചിപ്പിച്ചു. മലയിൻകീഴ് പൊലീസ് മേൽനടപടി സ്വീകരിച്ചു.

Housewife riding pillion with husband dies after being run over by bus
MALAYINKEEZHU: A house wife died after being run over by a speeding KSRTC bus here on Wednesday. She was riding pillion on her husband’s bike when a speeding bus hit their bike. In its impact she was thrown onto the road when the back tyre of the bus ran over her head. She died on the spot.
The accident happened on Wednesday 11:30 am in front of Malayinkeezhu electricity office. The dead was identified as Rajini Gopal (50), the wife of Machel Kovikuvila Ramnivas resident and retired SI Prabhakaran Nair (Prasannan).
The couple was travelling from Kattakada to Malayinkeezhu and the ordinary KSRTC bus was going towards Thiruvananthapuram from Kattakada.
The bike lost control after the bus rubbed against its handle while overtaking it. Prabhakaran Nair fell on the left side and his wife was thrown under the bus.
Prabhakaran Nair had sustained injuries on his legs and stomach. He is under treatment in Malayinkeezhu Taluk hospital. The couple had no children.
