കൊല്ലം(16-05-2020): കൊല്ലം-ചെങ്കോട്ട ദേശീയപാതയില് കല്ലുംതാഴം ജങ്ഷന് സമീപം നിയന്ത്രണംവിട്ടകാര് മൂന്നു വാഹനങ്ങളിലിടിച്ചുണ്ടായ അപകടത്തില് ഒരാള് മരിച്ചു. അഞ്ചുപേര്ക്ക് പരിക്കേറ്റു. കൊല്ലം മങ്ങാട് നഗര് കായല്വാരത്ത് മാധവപ്പള്ളി വീട്ടില് കമലന്റെ മകന് സന്തോഷ് (49) ആണ് മരിച്ചത്.
16-5-2020 ശനിയാഴ്ച ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് 1.1 5-ഓടെ കല്ലുംതാഴം പാലക്കടവ് പമ്പിന് മുന്വശത്തായിരുന്നു അപകടം. കടപ്പാക്കടഭാഗത്തുനിന്ന് കരിക്കോട്ടേക്ക് വരുകയായിരുന്ന ടി.കെ.എം. എന്ജിനീയറിങ് കോളേജ് റിട്ട. പ്രൊഫസര്
സഞ്ചരിച്ച കാര് പാലക്കടവിനു സമീപം ബൈക്കില് ഇടിക്കുകയും നിയന്ത്രണംവിട്ട് അമ്പതുമീറ്ററോളം മുന്നോട്ടു നീങ്ങി എതിരേ വന്ന സ്കൂട്ടറില് ഇടിക്കുകയുമായിരുന്നെന്ന് പോലീസ് പറഞ്ഞു. ഇടിയുടെ ആഘാതത്തില് സ്കൂട്ടറില്നിന്ന് തെറിച്ചുവീണ സന്തോഷ് സമീപത്തുകൂടി വന്ന പിക്കപ്പ് വാനിനും കാറിനുമിടയില്പ്പെട്ട് തത്ക്ഷണം മരിച്ചു.
കാര് ഓടിച്ചിരുന്നയാളെ പരിക്കുകളോടെ കൊട്ടിയത്തെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയില് പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. പെട്ടി ഓട്ടോയില് സഞ്ചരിച്ച പള്ളിമുക്ക് സ്വദേശികളായ മൂന്നുപേരെ ജില്ലാ ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. ഒരാളെ എന്.എസ്. ആശുപത്രിയിലും പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. അപകടത്തില് സന്തോഷ് സഞ്ചരിച്ച സ്കൂട്ടര് പൂര്ണമായും തകര്ന്നു. അപകടത്തില്പ്പെട്ട വാഹനങ്ങള് സംഭവസ്ഥലത്തുനിന്ന് ക്രെയിന് ഉപയോഗിച്ച് നീക്കി. കടപ്പാക്കടയില്നിന്ന് ഫയര് ഫോഴ്സ് എത്തി റോഡ് വൃത്തിയാക്കിയശേഷമാണ് ഗതാഗതം പുനഃസ്ഥാപിച്ചത്. കിളികൊല്ലൂര് പോലീസ് കേസെടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
Kollam (16-05-2020): One person was killed in a head-on collision between three vehicles near Kallumthazham junction on the Kollam-Red Fort National Highway. Five people were injured. The deceased has been identified as Santosh (49), son of Kamal, of Madhavappally house, Kollam Mangad Nagar backwaters.

Police said the car collided with a bike near Palakkad and went out of control about 50 meters ahead and hit an oncoming scooter. Santhosh, who was thrown from the scooter by the impact of the thunder, died instantly between the approaching pickup van and the car.
The driver of the car was admitted to a private hospital in Kottiyam with injuries. Three residents of Pallimukku who were traveling in a box auto were shifted to the district hospital.
