കുറവിലങ്ങാട്(03-06-2020): എംസി റോഡില് കഴിഞ്ഞ ഏഴ് മാസത്തിനുള്ളില് പൊലിഞ്ഞത് 11 ജീവനുകള്. മഴക്കാലത്ത് വാഹനങ്ങളുടെ മരണപ്പാച്ചില് കൂടിയായതോടെ അപകട സാധ്യതയേറി. മഴവെള്ളം വീണ് കിടക്കുന്നതിനാല് റോഡില് വഴുക്കല് കൂടുതലാണ്. അമിത വേഗതയില് എത്തുന്ന വാഹനങ്ങള് പെട്ടെന്ന് ബ്രേക്ക് ചവിട്ടേണ്ടി വന്നാല് റോഡില് നിന്ന് തെന്നിമാറി നിയന്ത്രണംതെറ്റി അപകടം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത് പതിവാണ്
കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം നിയന്ത്രണം വിട്ട കാര് ബൈക്കിലിടിച്ചുണ്ടായ അപകടത്തില് ഭര്ത്താവ് തത്ക്ഷണം മരിക്കുകയും ഭാര്യയ്ക്ക് ഗുരുതരമായി പരിക്കേല്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അന്ന് തന്നെ ഉച്ചകഴിഞ്ഞ് വെമ്പള്ളി വളവില് രണ്ട് കാറുകള് നിയന്ത്രണം തെറ്റി കുട്ടിയിടിച്ച് രണ്ട്് പേര്ക്ക് പരിക്കേറ്റു.എംസി റോഡില് ഏറ്റവും അധികം അപകട മരണങ്ങള് നടക്കുന്ന പ്രദേശമായി കാളികാവ് മേഖല മാറി. ഇവിടെ മാത്രം കഴിഞ്ഞ ആറ് മാസത്തിനുള്ളില് പൊലിഞ്ഞത് എട്ട് ജീവനുകളാണ്. അപകടങ്ങള് തുടര്ക്കഥയായതോടെ പട്ടിത്താനം മുതല് ജില്ലാ അതിര്ത്തിയായ ചോരക്കുഴി പാലം വരെയുള്ള ഭാഗങ്ങള് അപകട മേഖലയായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.
കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം അപകടം നടന്ന സ്ഥലത്താണ് അഞ്ചു മാസം മുമ്പ് കോട്ടയം വേളൂര് സ്വദേശികളായ അഞ്ചു പേര് കാറപകടത്തില് മരിച്ചത്. അപകട സാധ്യത കൂടിയ ഈ പ്രദേശം ബ്ലാക്ക് സ്പോട്ടയി പരിഗണിച്ച് വിവിധ സുരക്ഷാ നടപടികള് സ്വീകരിക്കുവാനുള്ള പദ്ധതി ഇപ്പോഴും പാതിവഴിയിലാണ്.
