അസിസ്റ്റന്റ് സ്റ്റേഷൻ ഓഫീസർ ആർ.ഗിരീഷിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലായിരുന്നു രക്ഷാപ്രവർത്തനം. പരിക്കേറ്റ കാർ യാത്രികരെ വണ്ടാനം മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജ് ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി.
Alappuzha (09-6-2020): A lorry carrying chlorine cylinders met with an accident on the National Highway near Thiruvambadi junction. The accident happened around 4 pm on Monday. The lorry collided head-on with a car traveling from Travancore Cochin Chemicals in Elur, Ernakulam to the Chavara Titanium Factory in Alappuzha. The Alappuzha fire brigade reached the spot, moved the car to the roadside and partially restored traffic. The lorry could not be towed off the road. The police recovery van arrived but could not be lifted. The truck could only be removed from the road after safety officials removed the chlorine cylinders from the garbage titanium factory.
The rescue operation was led by Assistant Station Officer R. Girish. The injured were shifted to Vandanam Medical College Hospital.
