കോഴിക്കോട് (19-08-2019): പൈമ്പ്ര ഗവ.ഹയർ സെക്കന്ററി സ്കൂളിൽ നിന്ന് മരം കയറ്റി വരുന്ന പിക്ക് അപ്പ് വാൻ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്കിടയിലേക്ക് മറിഞ്ഞു അപകടം. പരിക്കേറ്റ അഞ്ച് വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളെ കോഴിക്കോട് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ എത്തിച്ചു.വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ വിദ്യാലയത്തിലേക്ക് നടന്ന് പോകവെയാണ് മരം കയറ്റിയ വാൻ കുട്ടികളുടെ ദേഹത്തേക്കായി മറിഞ്ഞത്.
അപകടത്തിൽ പരിക്കേറ്റ് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ കഴിയുന്ന നന്ദന, റൽന ഫാത്തിമ,സ്വാതി, അവന്തിക,ആതിര എന്നീ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ എട്ടാം തരത്തിൽ പഠിക്കുന്നവരാണ്. ട്രാഫിക് പോലീസ് അസിസ്റ്റൻറ് കമ്മിഷണർ ബിജു രാജ്, ഫയർ ഫോഴ്സ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥൻ ബാബുരാജ്, കുന്ദമംഗലം എസ് ഐ ശ്രീജിത്ത്, എന്നിവരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ മീഞ്ചന്ത, വെള്ളിമാട്കുന്ന്, നരിക്കുനി, എന്നിവടങ്ങളിലെ ഫയർ ഫോഴ്സ് ഡിപ്പാർട്മെന്റും കുന്ദമംഗലം പോലീസും നാട്ടുകാരും ചേർന്നാണ് വൻ അപകടത്തിൽ നിന്നും വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളെ രക്ഷിച്ചത്. വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളുടെ പരിക്ക് ഗുരുതരമല്ലെന്ന് അധികൃതർ അറിയിച്ചു
മരം കയറ്റി വരുന്ന ഡ്രൈവറോടായി കുട്ടികൾ വരുന്ന സമയത്ത് വാഹനം ഇറക്കി കൊണ്ട് പോകുവാൻ പാടില്ലയെന്ന കാര്യം സ്റ്റുഡന്റ് പോലീസ് വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ വാക്കുകൾ കേൾക്കാതെ മുന്നോട്ട് പോയതാണ് വൻ അപകടത്തിലേക്ക് നയിച്ചത്. ചെങ്കുത്തായ കുന്നിൻ മുകളിൽ നിന്ന് നിയന്ത്രണം വിട്ട വാഹനം റോഡിനരികിലെ കവയിലേക്ക് മറഞ്ഞു നിന്നില്ലായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ വൻ അപകടമാവുമായിരുന്നു. നൂറുക്കണക്കിന് കുട്ടികളാണ് ഈ സമയം നിരത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്
Kozhikode (19-08-2019): A pick-up van carrying timber from Pimpra Govt. Higher Secondary School overturned among students. Five injured students were rushed to Kozhikode Medical College. The van overturned while the students were walking towards the school.
Nandana, Ralna Fathima, Swati, Avantika and Athira, all students of the medical college, were injured in the accident. Led by Assistant Commissioner of Traffic Biju Raj, Fire Force Officer Baburaj and Kundamangalam SI Sreejith, the fire brigade at Meenchantha, Vellimadkunnu and Narikkuni, Kundamangalam police and locals rescued the students from the accident. Authorities said the students' injuries were not serious
The student police had informed the students that the vehicle should not be taken off while the children were coming with the driver who was carrying the timber. But going ahead without listening to their words led to great danger. It would have been a big accident if the vehicle, which went out of control from the top of the steep hill, had not been hiding in a roadside ditch. Hundreds of children were on the streets at this time
